01
What the audit can tell a business owner
Rankly presents checks across SEO, AEO and GEO. These labels describe ways of evaluating search accessibility and answer readiness; they are not three independent guarantees of business growth.
Use the report to identify a concrete issue on a concrete URL. A score without an explanation, a reproducible check and a useful next action is too vague to prioritise. Example metrics displayed by a vendor are not Project Monet client results.
02
Run the audit against the correct canonical
Audit the public canonical URL, not a staging site or a logged-in preview. Note the run date and save the findings so a later comparison has the same starting conditions.
Check the basics separately: successful response, intended indexability, accurate title and heading, canonical, working navigation and sitemap inclusion. If the tool flags a problem, confirm it in the actual rendered page before editing.
03
Separate technical blockers from answer quality
Prioritise pages that fail to load, important pages blocked from indexing, broken links and misleading canonical signals. Then improve missing service information, confusing headings or unanswered purchase questions.
Write concise answers supported by the business’s own scope, policies or real evidence. Google does not require a special AI schema or an extra AI file for its AI search features. Do not treat an audit recommendation for a new file as a universal requirement.
04
Choose one owner for each search intent
If two guides answer the same setup question, consolidate the useful steps into the stronger page and redirect the duplicate only when the replacement meets that intent. Unrelated retired pages need a real not-found response.
Keep service pages focused on buying decisions and resource guides focused on explaining decisions. Use a relevant internal link between them rather than placing the same sales copy across every article.
05
Measure the fix beyond the score
Recheck the affected page after deployment. Save the before-and-after finding and verify the link, metadata or page content that changed. This makes the implementation reviewable.
Observe Search Console impressions, clicks and queries over a useful window, alongside qualified enquiries where tracking exists. A higher audit score alone cannot establish that the change caused more customers.
